2024 NFL playoffs: The weather enabled the Steelers vs. Bills Super Wild Card Weekend clash to be rearranged the Monday
The game will air on CBS and watch on Paramount+. In addition to a complete travel prohibition for Erie County beginning at 9 p.m., Governor Hochul said on social media that travel in Western New York will be exceedingly risky.
According to Jonathan Jones, lead NFL Insider for CBS Sports, the Steelers have not gone to Buffalo and are expected to depart on Sunday.
Buffalo is under a winter storm warning from 10 a.m. on Saturday until 7 a.m. on Monday, per Weather.com. Strong winds and a lot of lake effect snow are predicted for this weekend, with possible accumulations of one to three feet. In order to prepare Highmark Stadium for Sunday afternoon play, the Bills had even earlier requested assistance in shovelling snow during the night.
The Steelers vs. Chiefs game in Kansas City was rescheduled from 1:05 ET to 8:20 ET in 2016 because of an ice storm, according to ESPN, the last time an NFL playoff game was postponed. This rescheduling costs the NFL world a Sunday playoff tripleheader, but it does give us a Monday doubleheader: the Steelers take on the Bills at 4:30 p.m. ET, while the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 8:15 p.m. ET.
