Amid the recent loan news, Kieran Tierney is seen wearing a “Celtic always” statement.
The ex-Celtic defender has recovered from a muscle injury sustained in Spain and is an important player for the Basque team, who will face PSG in the following round of the Champions League next month. Following the injury to Oleksandr Zinchenko, the Gunners are reportedly considering recalling Tierney from his loan term.
But the 26-year-old has no plans to return to London.”Several people have already asked me if I was going to return to Arsenal now,” he remarked. “I’m definitely staying here.”The decision to stay here longer is not mine. But all I can say is that I like playing for Real Madrid. And I’m having a great time with it.
“He [Mikel Arteta] is fine with everything.” I didn’t play last year and spent a lot of time on the bench. But this is football, and I don’t mind. I had nearly no injuries and played approximately 30 games, many of which I came off the bench, but I was fine.
“Everyone understands that the Premier League has a lot more money.” All teams in that league can spend 30 million Euros on footballers. That is the primary distinction. But when it comes to quality, I disagree about the disparity between the leagues; I believe La Liga has exceptional footballers.
“This place has a wonderful atmosphere. There are also extremely good atmospheres in England, and I don’t want to speak negatively about the Premier League since it is a fantastic league with fantastic fans.
“However, if more people saw La Liga, they would realize that it is an incredible tournament, as are the fans.” When you travel to play against Osasuna, you will notice their crowd roaring wildly. Alternatively, Cadiz. And when we play at home, the crowd in front of the goals never stop singing…it’s fantastic.”Tierney said he will always be a passionate Celtic supporter in an interview with a San Sebastian newspaper, explaining why he moved in a ยฃ25 million deal.
“I signed for Celtic when I was seven years old,” he explained. I will always be a Celtic person. “Always, always, always.”When I remember back to my time at Celtic, when I rose through the ranks from the academy, I picture Martn Zubimendi and Jon Pacheco, and it was the same at Real.
“It’s their club, their Celtic, and everyone loves them.” And it was remarkable for me to make the first team because I joined the club when I was seven years old. You have 15 players like that here. It’s fantastic.”I was comfortable at Celtic and had previously turned down offers from Arsenal, but I didn’t want to go.
“But when they proposed it to me again it was a lot of money, Celtic also took a significant amount and I gained the ability to play in another league, so everyone won.” I was content at Celtic; I didn’t want to leave, but it was for the best.
“I’ve had a great time at Real. Despite the injuries, I have played 11 or 12 games in the Champions League, and I am very thrilled to have played against Real Madrid, the Basque derby, and Valencia.
“The fans here are fantastic. Sometimes I encounter folks on the street, and they always greet me beautifully and encourage me greatly. They always treat you with respect and never overwhelm you.
“I’ll never forget hearing the fans singing Kieran Tierney as I was leaving the hospital with my head down and very upset.” This verified what I previously suspected: this is a truly special group.”The crowd are fervent and out of control. That style of supporter is my favorite.
“I believe I was playing well prior to the injury, but I had not yet reached my peak form.” I’d like to improve my game, contribute more assists, and even score a goal. “I’m hoping to do it.”It was crucial for me to travel to a foreign nation, learn a new language, meet another coach, and play in a different league.
“No one knows what will happen in the next year or two, but I’m sure I’ll have a lot of experience.” I’ve played in the Scottish Premier League, the English Premier League, and the Spanish La Liga. Not many players have had the opportunity. So far, I’m having a great time.”
Tierney also refuses to make any predictions about the Euros in Germany this summer. He was quoted as saying: “I was lucky enough to play in the last Euros, ย but the stadiums were not full due to Covid.”I don’t enjoy talking about long-term ambitions; instead, I prefer to work hard and take things one game at a time.
