Up to date: Former Cubs All-Star Signs New Contract
The New York Yankees and a former Chicago Cubs pitcher came to an understanding. A two-year deal for $18.5 million per year has been negotiated between the New York Yankees and former Chicago Cubs star Marcus Stroman. The agreement was first revealed by Joel Sherman of the New York Post. The agreement is contingent on a physical, according to Sherman. Especially when he elected to test free agency in the final year of his deal, it was well understood early in the winter that Stroman would likely leave the Cubs for free. Stroman would have received $21 million if he had chosen the option for 2024.
