Murray plans to participate in every Fijian Drua game in 2024.
Motikiai Murray, a young, explosive flanker, is focused on accomplishing his objective of playing every game for the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua in the 2024 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific. Murray claims he is putting in extra effort to try and earn a position in the team for each matchday. The 20-year-old claims that he didn’t expect the professional rugby environment to be simple, and in order to please the coaches, he is working more than he did before.
He claims he is picking up whatever tip he can from the team’s more experienced players. Murray led the Fiji under-20 team to victory in the Oceania Rugby competition in Australia. He later signed with the Fiji Warriors and was selected for the Fijian Drua development squad the previous season.
When he replaced the bench for the Drua in round 13 of last year’s match against the Crusaders in Christchurch, he also made his Super Rugby Pacific debut. Murray, who is originally from Lovoni hamlet in Ovalau, is expected to compete in the back-row and will undoubtedly provide the position more depth. In the opening game of the 2024 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific championship in Auckland, the Fijian Drua will play the Blues.
