Texas football leverages the transfer portal to assess a tight end in Alabama.
“Alabama gateway tight end Amari Niblack has arrived in Austin for an official visit. According to On3, Niblack is the top TE on the transfer portal.
6’5 and 240 pounds, tight end Niblack was rated as a 5-Star Recruit by On3 as the No. 1 TE in the ’22 Class. Should he choose to play football at Texas, he will have two more years of eligibility. In 2023, he recorded 20 receptions for 327 yards and four touchdowns.
This is not the first star player from Alabama football to depart the team following Nick Saban’s retirement. Wide receiver Isaiah Bond made the announcement that he will be leaving the Crimson Tide and attending Texas football only hours before the Amari Niblack hit.
The Longhorns’ football team, led by Ewers, is preparing for what may be a historic season. This previous season, Ewers passed for 3,161 yards and 21 touchdowns while leading the Longhorns to the Big 12 Conference title and a College Football Playoff berth. They are now joining Oklahoma in the SEC as the sport experiences a full-scale reorganization.
Given Quinn Ewers’ return to Texas, Arch Manning’s future is uncertain. Transferring to LSU is reportedly one of Manning’s possibilities that he is mulling about. The original article on ClutchPoints read, “Texas football lands visit with Alabama TE in transfer portal.”
