“What an absolute embarrassment”: Dejected Montreal Canadiens supporters watch as their team loses to the Boston Bruins 9–4.
The Boston Bruins defeated the Montreal Canadiens 9–4 at TD Garden on Saturday. The centerpiece of the show was Danton Heinen, who gave the Bruins the win with his first NHL hat trick.
In a closely contested game, the Montreal Canadiens, under the direction of their coach Martin St. Louis, were down 5-4 going into the third period. But the Bruins went on the offensive, scoring four goals in a row to seal the victory. Jim Montgomery, the head coach of Boston, highlighted the unexpected aspect of such a high-scoring night while highlighting the team’s developing offensive strength.
The Canadiens’ issues became worse when David Pastrnak scored his thirty-first goal and added another assist. After recovering from a leg injury, Linus Ullmark produced 17 saves to fortify Boston’s upper hand. Cole Caufield put in a lot of effort and scored for the sixth straight game. Sean Monahan provided three assistance. However, the Bruins’ intelligent scoring proved too much for the Canadiens to handle. Following the defeat, supporters of the Montreal Canadiens flocked to Twitter to vent their annoyance and disappointment.
