Working on a €5 million MLS solution for a troubled loanee from Nottingham Forest, Milan…
Divock Origi’s time at Nottingham Forest is not going well, and it looks like he may have to go to the United States in the future.
Given his expertise and his big-game performances at Liverpool, Milan bought Origi during the 2022 summer transfer window in the hopes that he might be a dependable striker to rotate with Olivier Giroud.
But in an injury-plagued season, he managed just two goals, so by the summer of last year, the Rossoneri management was already searching for a new home for him.
The Belgian joined Forest on loan with a buyout option, although he has only made nine appearances, played 178 minutes, and attempted two attempts on goal in his brief stint there. The statistics painfully highlight his lack of influence on a team that is fighting to remain up.
Sky is reporting that Los Angeles FC has made some “more serious approaches” regarding Origi, who is currently loaned to Forest but may have his term terminated early.
After the discussion between the directors of the MLS club and the intermediaries handling the transaction, Milan is now anticipating a formal offer. The Rossoneri are asking for a loan with a €5 million purchase obligation.
