Jaylen Wright of Tennessee football will miss the Senior Bowl due to injury rehabilitation
Thor Nystrom of Fantasy Pros reports that Wright will now miss the Senior Bowl as a result of ongoing injury rehabilitation following his NFL Draft declaration:
“Because he is still recovering from a season-long injury, Tennessee running back Jaylen Wright will not be attending the Senior Bowl. Wright is anticipated to be completely well for the NFL Combine examinations. The former Feldman Freak Lister is reportedly planning to “put on a show” in Indianapolis.
Wright was Tennessee’s main back in both his sophomore and junior seasons, and his running totals increased with each passing year while he was a member of the Volunteers. In 2022, he contributed to the Volunteers winning 11 games for the first time since 2001 and recorded a career-high 10 touchdowns.
Following his NFL Draft announcement, the standout running back expressed gratitude to the Tennessee football program.
“I have grown tremendously both on and off the field while Coach Heupel and the Tennessee coaching staff have guided me. I am grateful for the confidence you have in me to continue the vision and for the priceless lessons you have taught me, which I can use in both the game and in real life.
In keeping with the VOLS tradition, I’m happy to let you know that my family and I have chosen that I will enter the 2024 NFL Draft as the next step in my football career.
