Updated: Kristaps Porzingis’s Health Ahead of the Pelicans vs. Celtics Match
The Boston Celtics will host the New Orleans Pelicans in Massachusetts on Monday night. Due to an injury to Kristaps Porzingis, the Celtics may be missing one of their finest players for the game. This would be the 2018 NBA All-Star’s second straight game out of the starting lineup (assuming he doesn’t play). He also missed the team’s most recent game.
After 33 games, Porzingis has averaged 19.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.8 blocks, and a 52.9% field goal percentage and a 35.9% three-point percentage. With a 35-11 record through 46 games, the Celtics hold the top seed in the Eastern Conference. They have won seven of their previous ten games, but their most recent defeat came at the hands of Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers, 115-96.
The Celtics will stay home on Tuesday night to host the Indiana Pacers after the Pelicans. In the 22 games they have played in Boston, they are 20-2 at home. With a 26-20 record through their first 46 games, the Pelicans are now ranked as the seventh seed in the Western Conference.
They are currently on a two-game losing streak and have gone 5-5 in their previous ten games. The Pelicans most recently suffered a 141-117 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. They’ll head back to Texas on Wednesday night to play the Houston Rockets after the Celtics.
