Jack Miller says he fractured his bone during his preparation for the 2024 MotoGP season.
Miller claims the injury he sustained late in the previous season has healed as he heads into this week’s preseason Sepang test. Miller replied, “Cycling,” when asked how he had spent his offseason by the media, notably Crash.net. I wish I could claim that I was participating in motocross, but right before Christmas, I broke my scaphoid. I haven’t been riding motocross very much, so I gave it enough time to heal. It’s a pleasant feeling. It ought not to have an impact on…
It was alright. I chose to go motocross instead of cycling because it was raining at home. But I gave up!I went to pick up the bike. and completed another moto after waiting for roughly ten minutes. After returning home, I cleaned the bike and took care of Pip and my nephew when they began to swell.
“Aaaah, I really should get this checked out,” I thought to myself. However, it appears to be quite nice. I have plenty of time. Miller, instead, shifted his focus from riding a motorcycle to training.
“A lot of hands-on training,” he remarked. “I’m working with a trainer in Australia as part of a new program that I started—a physical training program. “The summer was enjoyable! This year was really brief. a speedy recovery in comparison to the previous year.
I’ve been completely occupied with the new program since Valencia. Although I spent most of my time in Australia, I did spend some time in the wind tunnel in January. “In this 38-degree heat, I’ve been busting my ass!”
Coming up is the preseason Sepang test, and KTM appears to be in an interesting spot. The KTM riders were the fastest during the shakedown. Pedro Acosta (Tech3 GASGAS) shocked everyone by setting the fastest time on the third day, but veteran test drivers Dani Pedrosa and Pol Espargaro exposed KTM’s depth.
“It was amazing what Pedro Acosta has done, especially as a rookie,” Miller remarked. It is obvious that the bike is in good operational order here. In response to the faster timings recorded at the shakedown this year than the previous, Miller said, “The bikes are getting faster.”
“After the test the previous year, we were all complaining about the bumps between Turns 7 and 8. The fact that it reappeared was positively significant. It was unfamiliar to them, as the tarmac had been there for a while. The sheer amount of grip there surprised Dani.
In order to allow Acosta to compete in MotoGP, KTM decided to downgrade Espargaro from a full-time racer to a reserve and test rider. As a result, Miller maintained his position on the factory team in spite of rumors that he might be fired.
Now that Pedrosa and Espargaro are available, the Austrian manufacturer can focus on creating the ’24 bike, having already begun work on it during the shakedown.
Miller remarked, “We have two very good test riders, one coming off a contract.” “There is a racing experience—a new racing experience. The greater, the better. With Jonas, Dani, and Pol, we’re in a strong situation right now.
It implies that the bike is already traveling in the correct direction. That is how things appeared to be last year. The boys have been extremely busy now that they have more time to think.
“It has been really good having people like Pol here for the shakedown to iron out the kinks so we can get on and do our jobs.”
About KTM’s initial expectations, Miller remarked, “There are still a lot of moving parts because it’s motorcycle racing.” We had a competitive bike the previous year, and they are working extremely hard to fulfill our wishes. We seem to be headed in the right direction. They refuse to give up.
