Brian McFadden reveals that Boyzone and Westlife have taken over Chorley, saying it’s “pretty close.”
Brian McFadden revealed that he and the Boyzone members are getting close to assuming control of Chorley, having drawn inspiration from the Hollywood owners of Wrexham.
Although their precise positions within the team are yet unknown, McFadden expressed his excitement about signing a contract soon and said he would love to take his family to future home games. In an effort to start something significant from the ground up, Shane Lynch’s business partner bought the club and invited McFadden, Duffy, and Ronan Keating to join.
According to McFadden, who was speaking with PA news agency, “It’s pretty close.” There will likely be a large number of us there because I recently mentioned that my family and I plan to attend the upcoming home game. We’re in.
“Shane was urged to get involved when his business partner purchased the club seven months ago. Although Shane isn’t much of a football fan, he knew that Keith and I were football fans, so he enlisted Ronan’s help. Our desire is to be involved in something from its inception.”
McFadden declared that he was a fan of Manchester United and went on to say, “I have season tickets at Old Trafford, but it’s a company. When you consider something like Chorley Football Club, you can see that it is a part of the town, the people, and the community. There’s a hint of romance in it for us to be able to become involved in something at that level and try to take it farther.
McFadden drew parallels between Chorley’s ascent up the football pyramid and the Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s purchase of Wrexham, emphasising Chorley’s potential to fulfil his ambition of playing professionally. Nevertheless, they are presently ranked ninth in the National League North, and McFadden is prepared to work hard to capitalize on the passionate fan base and community support to make the endeavor a success.
“What the boys have done at Wrexham is incredible, but Wrexham is the same,” McFadden stated. Wrexham has always had an amazing stadium, a great town, and a large fan base. All they needed to do what they’re doing was a little extra love and attention.
“With Chorley, we’re hoping to accomplish the same thing. Observe this: this is a non-league football game, and a few thousand fans are present enjoying themselves and cheering for the team. It would be wonderful if we could assist those supporters in realizing a greater desire and join them in doing so.“Obviously, we would want to see Chorley compete in the major leagues. After we escape the National North, there’s the National League; after a few years, perhaps with some development and investment, who knows? Perhaps they should move up to League Two from the National League and see what happens.
