Raiders On Contract: DT David Ebuka Agoha
David Ebuka Agoha, a Nigerian defensive tackle who switched from basketball to football after being a standout player in the Premier Basketball League, was signed by them. In the Raiders’ victory over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 2 of the 2023 preseason, Ebuka Agoha recorded the team’s lone sack.
Sadly, this past season he did not play in a regular season game as a defensive tackle. Ebuka Agoha was signed by the Raiders to a reserve/future deal last month. His one-year contract is valued at $795,000.
Through The Uprise, a project started by former All-Pro defensive end Osi Umenyiora, Ebuka Agoha first gained notoriety. He attended the NFL Africa Camp in Ghana in 2022, along with the five other native Nigerians who arrived through the IPP the previous year.
For each of the five seasons that Antonio Pierce was a New York Giant, Umenyiora was a teammate of the Raiders coach.
At the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, Ebuka Agoha and the other IPP participants had the opportunity to learn and showcase their skills over a 10-week training camp. They attended the University of South Florida for a pro day as well.
In 2017, the International Player Pathway program was launched with the goal of giving gifted athletes from all around the world a chance to play in the National Football League.
Even though Ebuka Agoha still has a long way to go before he can call it quits on his career as a Raider, you can be sure that he will keep working hard to attempt to get there.
The NFL Scouting Combine will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, from February 27 to March 4, 2024.
The NFL Draft is scheduled for April 25โ27, 2024, in Detroit, Michigan. The No. 13 overall pick is presently in the hands of the Las Vegas Raiders.
