Raptors Are Toronto’s Most Valuable Team, According to Their Valuation
When the Toronto Raptors’ competitive window opens again, perhaps they shouldn’t be so concerned about paying the luxury tax.
Sportico claims that the organization is worth $4.11 billion (USD), which places them as the 48th most valuable sports franchise globally. According to reports, the Raptors bring in $347 million a year, and in the last year, the franchise’s worth increased by 23%.
The Toronto Raptors are a far more valuable sports club than the Toronto Maple Leafs or Toronto Blue Jays. The Blue Jays are valued at $1.97 billion and bring in $335 billion annually, while the Maple Leafs are valued at $2.65 billion and bring in $327 million.
The Raptors, who are slightly ahead of the Houston Rockets at $4.05 billion and behind the Philadelphia 76ers at $4.13 billion, are the ninth most valued NBA team. At $8.28 billion, the Golden State Warriors are valued as the most valuable team in the league. On the other hand, the New Orleans Pelicans are the least valuable team in the NBA with a value of $2.72.
The only other sports club in the world with a higher projected valuation than the Warriors is the Dallas Cowboys, who are valued at an astounding $9.2 billion.
The Houston Rockets and Mercedes’ Formula 1 team are both valued approximately the same as the Maple Leafs, who are regarded as the most valuable team in the NHL. The Raptors exceeded the tax threshold in the 2018–19 season en route to the team’s first NBA title, yet they have only paid into the luxury tax once in the previous 20 years.
