Following the Atlanta Cup race, Ross Chastain spends time with servicemen and gains the respect of a NASCAR fan.
That being said, Chastain was spotted spending a lot of time in the victory lane with American service members following his maiden top-10 finish in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series.
One NASCAR fan was drawn to Chastain’s selfless act toward them. The fan posted a clip from the victory lane and complimented the driver, citing his actions for the veterans as inspiration. The driver has won the NASCAR Cup Series four times. He posted this gesture on Twitter, made by the #1 Chevrolet driver:
I just have to give credit where credit is due. @RossChastain was something I saw yesterday. This man was on Victory Lane with our great nation’s service heroes a lot. Just chatting and sipping on a refreshing @BuschBeer.
The racing enthusiast clarified Ross Chastain’s “welcoming” demeanor:
“I heard him extend an invitation to visit his bus and spend some time with him. He spent so much time with the service members; it was just great. How hospitable and grounded he was toward them. Fan here I am!After a fruitless 2023 season, Ross Chastain’s teammate wins his first Cup Series.
Similar to the thrilling pile-up that occurred during the second lap, the last sprint for the checkered flag gave the three drivers who were battling for first place a rush of excitement.
On the 260th lap, Kyle Busch, Ryan Blaney, and Daniel Suarez were running parallel as they pursued the win. Still, Suarez, Ross Chastain’s colleague, emerged victorious, disappointing his immediate opponents.
Following a 2023 season devoid of victories, the Mexican driver narrowly prevailed by 0.003 seconds, with Blaney in P2 and Busch in P3. In addition, Suarez’s victory was deemed by NASCAR to be the third-closest finish in Cup Series history.
Suarez thought back on the intensely competitive final lap, in which the three drivers nearly touched each other’s car doors, after his thrilling three-wide finish on the AMS. The #91 Chevrolet driver’s interview was shared by FOX NASCAR on their X (formerly Twitter) account:
“Man, it was so freaking close. The racing was excellent, and it was really close. There, Ryan Blaney, Kyle Busch, and Austin Cindric were also doing a fantastic job of providing pushes.”
The Atlanta 2024 winner also mentioned:
“He didn’t push me in the back instantly because he knew I was going to f*** his teammate, but man, what a job. We completely ruined lap 2. This car’s repair was expertly completed by the men, I am so grateful to all of you.”
Following a disappointing 2023 season, Daniel Suarez has had a fantastic start to the 2024 campaign. The next Cup Series race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, which is scheduled to begin on March 3 at 12:30 PM ET, will feature the Trackhouse Racing driver.
