Blackhawks Overcome Coyotes on a Power Play
Chicago secures its first road victory since November 9, 2023, thanks to four power-play goals. Tuesday night in the desert, the Blackhawks’ power play came alive as they defeated the Arizona Coyotes 5-2, scoring four goals while having the man advantage.
Four different players scored in the game: Jones, Foligno, Jason Dickinson, and Philipp Kurashev. Tyler Johnson (3A), Seth Jones (2G), Nick Foligno (1G, 1A), and Connor Bedard (2A) led the way with multi-point efforts. Arvid Soderblom, the netminder, recorded his first victory since November 24 with 37 saves while facing scoring opportunities.
“Soderblom played so great,” Bedard remarked. “There’s been so many games where he’s kept us in it and we haven’t been able to pull it off for him, but tonight he was our best player, and it’s always good to see him get a win.” Chicago’s victory ended a 22-game losing streak on the road that had started on November 9, 2023.
Luke Richardson, the head coach, remarked, “The guys really deserved the win.” The 20 boys played incredibly well, in my opinion, from beginning to end. I believe they were incredibly focused because they won as a team. Our goal for the next twenty games is something we discussed briefly this morning, and only we in the room have the power to alter it. And it seemed like a wise first move to me.”
