Bangkok awaits intense heat waves and thunderstorms.
The TMD warned citizens in Bangkok and 22 other provinces to get ready for intense heat and erratic weather as Thailand prepared for a hot day with possible thunderstorms. Sea vessels are at serious risk due to the big waves in the southern region, which can reach heights of over two meters in certain places.
There is a 10% probability of thunderstorms in the northern region, primarily in the provinces of Phitsanulok and Phetchabun, and hot to extremely hot weather is predicted. The lowest predicted temperature is between 16 and 25 degrees Celsius, and the greatest possible temperature is between 36 and 40 degrees Celsius. Five to fifteen kilometers per hour should be the average speed of the southeasterly winds.
There is also a 10% probability of thunderstorms in the northeast, especially in Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, and Buriram. With southeasterly winds of 10–20 km/h, temperatures could fall to 21–26 degrees Celsius and rise to 34–38 degrees Celsius.
Similar weather is expected in central Thailand, with temperatures reaching highs of 40°C and a 10% probability of thunderstorms in places including Saraburi, Lopburi, Kanchanaburi, and Ratchaburi.
With southerly winds of 10–20 km/h, the temperature range is predicted to be 24-27 degrees Celsius at the lowest point and 37–41 degrees Celsius at the highest point.
There is a 20% probability of thunderstorms in the eastern area, particularly in Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat. 25 to 29 degrees Celsius might be the lowest and 32 to 38 degrees Celsius the hottest temperatures. Southeasterly winds can reach 15–30 km/h, and waves can be up to one meter high, with thunderstorms causing them to rise higher.
Thunderstorms
There is also a 20% probability of thunderstorms in the southern area (east coast), which will mostly affect Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Yala, and Narathiwat. Temperature ranges for the low and high in this area are 22–27 and 32–36 degrees Celsius, respectively. Southeasterly winds of 15–30 km/h from Surat Thani upwards will produce waves that are about one meter high, rising above one meter during storms. As you descend to Nakhon Si Thammarat, easterly winds of 15 to 35 km/h may produce waves that are 1-2 meters high, with thunderstorms causing them to rise above 2 meters.
Temperatures in the southern region (west coast) range from 24-26 degrees Celsius at the lowest to 34-36 degrees Celsius at the highest, with a 10% risk of thunderstorms, especially in Ranong and Phang Nga. According to KhaoSod, easterly winds of 15 to 30 km/h will produce waves that are about one meter high, with the waves growing farther offshore and in thunderstorm-prone locations.
There is a 10% probability of thunderstorms along with hot, occasionally cloudy weather in Bangkok and the surrounding areas. The lowest possible temperature is 27–29 degrees Celsius, while the greatest possible temperature is 33–38 degrees Celsius. The southerly winds are expected to reach 10–20 km/h.
