Natalie, Drew Lock’s wife, is “damn proud” of her quarterback for signing with the Giants in free agency.
In her Instagram Story, Natalie stated, “See you soon, NY.” “Baby, I’m so proud of you!”With Tyler Taylor leaving for the Jets, Lock will support starter Giants quarterback Daniel Jones. He was selected by the Broncos in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, out of Missouri.
Lock’s rookie campaign saw him throw for 1,020 yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions through five games. In 13 games during his sophomore campaign in 2020, Lock threw for 16 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. In April 2021, Teddy Bridgewater, a former first-round pick, was acquired by the Broncos from the Panthers in a trade; in that year, Lock lost his starting position.
In Week 15, he returned to the starting quarterback position when Bridgewater sustained a concussion and was sidelined for the remainder of the campaign.Lock’s tenure with the Broncos came to an end in March 2022 when he was traded to the Seahawks in exchange for defensive lineman Shelby Harris, tight end Noah Fant, and a plethora of draft picks in the highly publicized Russell Wilson trade.
For the previous two seasons, he was Geno Smith’s backup quarterback. In December of last year, Lock had a standout performance as he helped the Seahawks defeat the Eagles on “Monday Night Football,” winning 20-17 after he threw a touchdown in the last 30 seconds.Lock yelled, “Ny Football Giants, Let’s Gooo!” on Tuesday in an Instagram Story.
For Lock, the beginning of the year has been exhilarating. He and his spouse Natalie welcomed Layton Andrew Lock into their family in January. We are incredibly in love with the cutest little boy who is finally in our arms! At that moment, she said on Instagram, “Our hearts are forever full.” Last April, the Locks got married. After Barkley’s departure, the Giants are still adding at RB: Report
According to ESPN NYG source Jordan Raanan, the New York Giants have been “looking to add” another running back since they traded star running back Saquon Barkley for former Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans wide receiver Devin Singletary.
On March 13, the writer broke the story shortly after NFL Network source Ian Rapoport linked Big Blue to former Green Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon. The Dallas Cowboys and Indianapolis Colts are among the teams that Rapoport mentioned as having inquired about Dillon.
Raanan also mentioned that the Giants are “not looking to spend much” on Singletary’s likely backup. This should be highlighted. Reuniting with veteran free agent Matt Breida, who presumably knows head coach Brian Daboll well from his days in Buffalo and New York, is an additional possibility.
Giants Seem Interested in Adding Power Back to Their Backfield Alongside Devin Singletary.ย Making the connections between Raanan’s and Rapoport’s claims, it appears that the Giants are searching for a power back to partner with Singletary. The lightning to his thunder, as it were.
When Dillon first entered the league, he was compared to Derrick Henry at 6 feet and 247 pounds, so he was familiar with that role. With 69 postseason carries in addition to 597 regular season carries over four years, the Boston College product never quite lived up to his promise in Green Bay, but he still has a lot left to give.
Dillon, who turns 26 in May, is therefore still quite young. When considering the wide receiver market in free agency, Damien Harris, Latavius Murray, D’Onta Foreman, Cordarrelle Patterson, Joshua Kelley, and former Cowboys opponent Ezekiel Elliott are among the comparable targets who are known to be difficult runners.
Considering Dillon’s age and use, Harris, Foreman, and Kelley all seem like solid backup choices in the event that he decides to sign with another team during free agency.
Giants Strengthen WR Corps With Reunion of Brian Daboll
According to NFL insider Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team, the Giants introduced another intriguing component to their offense on March 12.According to his agents, former Bills and Colts wide receiver and returner Isaiah McKenzie is signing with the Giants, Meirov said. Of course, this marks Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen’s second reunion via free agency.
The 5-foot-8 gadget receiver McKenzie signed a contract with the Denver Broncos in 2017. Although he didn’t stay long in his first place, he had a good tenure with Buffalo from 2018 to 2022.
While McKenzie’s finest season as a Giants HC all-around may have been 2020 (291 scrimmage yards and five touchdowns), his greatest yardage total under Daboll was 303 scrimmage yards and a touchdown in 2019.
Strangely, McKenzie’s season improved even more when Daboll was dropped from the bill in 2022. The dual threat receiver and runner was promoted to a starting position as a part-time wide receiver (WR3) under new offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey. In addition to 423 receiving yards and four touchdowns through the air, he was targeted 65 times in the air, a career-high, and added 55 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
Despite being a failure signing in Indianapolis in 2023, McKenzie’s connection with Daboll should make him a contender for a WR4 or 5 position with the Giants. At wide receiver, Big Blue’s depth chart now features Wan’Dale Robinson, Jarin Hyatt, and Darrius Slayton at the top. In April, a draft selection or two could be added, and fellow wide receiver and returner Gunner Olszewski will also be back.
