40°C hot afternoon temperatures are predicted for Thailand’s north and central areas.
The heat in the upper part of Thailand would generate low atmospheric pressure, which would result in very hot weather at midday. The department stated that because of the unusually hot weather, citizens are recommended to take care of their health.
According to the department, isolated thunderstorms are probable in some locations as moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf of Thailand is carried by winds that blow from the southeast and southerly, covering the lower northeastern, lower central, and eastern regions.
It is urged that people in Thailand’s upper areas exercise caution due to the possibility of thunderstorms at this time. In certain parts of the southern region, isolated thunderstorms are caused by the east and southeast winds that blow over the Andaman Sea, the Gulf of Thailand, and the southern region.
Waves approximately one meter high are predicted in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea, with much greater waves in regions where thunderstorms are occurring. According to the agency, boat owners in certain locations are urged not to sail during thunderstorms.
