Poor discipline and lost chances harm Drua.
In the second half, with the Drua outnumbered, the Waratahs scored three tries in seven minutes to exact revenge for their losses in the 2022 final and 2023 semi-final.
Coach Rauluni of Drua claims that they did not take a chance. We said prior to the game that we shouldn’t let opportunities pass, but we gave away some penalties, discipline, and yellow cards, which really cost us. We missed a lot of chances in the first half, including a few balls that went down on the floor.
After putting in eighty minutes of nonstop work, flanker Sulita Waisega feels they should have done better.
“I would like to express my gratitude to all of you for your support this season. However, I believe there was one area where we could have performed much better and lost the game.”
While Karalaini Naisewa, the captain, scored the other try, the Drua was given a penalty try. Winger Desiree Miller scored a hat-trick to end the game, and Maya Stewart scored a double to help the Tahs win.
Atasi Lafai, the player of the match, Arabella McKenzie, Piper Duck, and Georgina Friedrichs all contributed to the Waratahs’ game-winning turnabout. The majority of the Drua players will have a week off before playing for the Fijiana in the Oceania Championship in the Gold Coast of Australia in June.
