Legend of the Indiana Pacers Reggie Miller talks about physical play and rookie Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever.
Miller was a member of the Pacers for almost twenty years. Indiana Pacers great Reggie Miller talked about Indiana Fever player Caitlin Clark’s early WNBA career in a recent episode of The Mark Jackson Show.
Miller and Jackson discussed Clark, her rookie status in the league, the implications for opponents, and physical play.
“The women’s game, they’re just straight ballers.” Miller made this comment early in the exchange. Before sustaining knee injuries, his sister Cheryl was a fantastic basketball player for Team USA and USC.
Miller then went into further detail on Clark’s reality in relation to the play. “What is shocking folks so much? “She’s competing with adult women,” Miller remarked to Jackson. “As rookies, we experienced the same thing. We experienced the same situation while playing against [Michael Jordan],” he continued.

A learning curve exists.” Since entering the league, Clark has been the focus of numerous discussions regarding hard fouls; nevertheless, just one off-ball hit, on June 1 from Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter, sticks out as unusual in a rough league.
Clark is leading the Fever in scoring with 16.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 6.0 assists through 13 games. Indiana is currently 3-10, despite a difficult schedule.
Miller said Clark need to respond with some degree of combat. He said, “What I would love Caitlin to do is get up one time and then just slap the s—t out of [someone],” though he eventually took a little backward on this. Nevertheless, he implied that the rookie for the Fever needed to go tough in order to defend herself.
