Cleveland Browns Are Considering Being the Longtime Packers Star’s Suitor
Late in NFL free agency, the Cleveland Browns might try to sign a veteran member of the Green Bay Packers. There are some uncertainties regarding the offensive line situation for the Cleveland Browns. Many people think they could be interested in adding more skill, even if they don’t have to take any action.
Superstar left tackle David Bakhtiari of the Green Bay Packers is one guy you might want to watch. Over the past few years, Bakhtiari has battled with injury concerns. Nonetheless, he’s almost fully recovered and is optimistic about his ability to resume playing at a high level. Late in free agency, the Browns were mentioned as a possible suitor for him.
The experienced offensive lineman may be worth watching for the Cleveland and Kansas City Chiefs, according to Bleacher Report.
“The Cleveland Browns, who lost Dawand Jones, Jack Conklin, and Jedrick Wills Jr. to season-ending injuries last year, could choose to take a chance on Bakhtiari. The Browns would be well served to see if Bakhtiari can take over at left tackle in 2024 given Wills has also failed to establish himself in that capacity.
According to the snippet, Bakhtiari would provide exceptional depth, at the absolute least. He could fill in and play at a high level if a player was hurt.
To be honest, Bakhtiari is better than most left tackles in football if he can regain his full health. He has been a true superstar for most of his career. If he signed with the Browns, he might end up beating someone else for a starting position.
Bakhtiari is 32 years old and starting the final phase of his NFL career. All he wants is a chance to play one more game to complete his career.
Considering the alternative, the Chiefs would also make sense. Bakhtiari would be a great addition to shield Patrick Mahomes’ blind side, since they could use stronger coverage for him.
If the appropriate opportunity arises, expect to see Cleveland and Andrew Berry stay busy. Bakhtiari may hardly pique anyone’s curiosity, yet the move might make perfect sense.
