In light of Harry Redknapp’s warning, Rio Ferdinand believes a Liverpool player is “going under the radar.”
Rio Ferdinand has been impressed with Liverpool’s season opening performance, and following yet another strong outing, he has his eye on one player in particular.
The former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand recently lauded Mohamed Salah and brought attention to Liverpool’s unsung heroes. Ferdinand was impressed by Salah’s performance in Liverpool’s victory over Brentford.
The Egyptian forward’s two goals helped Liverpool maintain their unbeaten home record at Anfield this year. After this victory, Jรผrgen Klopp’s team currently trails Manchester City, the league leader, by just one point.
In the summer transfer window, Salah, who was the target of a huge $187 million (ยฃ150 million/โฌ173 million) offer from Al-Ittihad, opened the score shortly before halftime and added a second goal an hour later with a header from a cross by Kostas Tsimikas. With 12 goals in 17 games across all competitions so far this season, Salah has put Liverpool in a position to go to the Europa League knockout rounds and help them earn 27 points out of a possible 36 in the Premier League.
Ferdinand feels that Salah’s genius and Liverpool’s overall play are being underappreciated because fans have become accustomed to expecting nothing less than the best from both. Ferdinand said on his FIVE podcast, “Liverpool, they have gone under the radar a little bit.” It’s because everyone expected them to return after they excelled for a few years and took a year off.
It’s similar to Mo Salah, in my opinion. He has played in the second-highest number of goals in the league this year (I believe it’s 14), but he is anticipated to score 30 goals per season. That is merely a portion of it. By the way, he is a very talented player.
Apart from Ferdinand’s commendation, Salah received a warning from former Premier League manager Harry Redknapp about being overvalued. Redknapp called Salah an all-time Premier League great and highlighted his love for his goal-scoring prowess from the wide right position.
According to Redknapp, “We take Mo Salah for granted,” BetVictor heard. “It’s amazing how many goals this guy scores from the wide right position year after year. He is a legendary player in the Premier League.
“It was a typical Salah goal; he ran at the ideal moment and put it in with ease. There aren’t many better, even after all these years in the league.”
Although the team’s prior victories have frequently eclipsed Salah’s efforts, his steady goal-scoring ability has made him an invaluable asset for Liverpool. The remarks made by Redknapp and Ferdinand both highlight how important it is to acknowledge Salah’s extraordinary talent and the contribution he makes to Liverpool’s success.
According to Liverpool.com, there is no possibility of his being taken advantage of at Anfield, unlike other supporters who may do so. The supporters of Liverpool are aware that they have an all-time great in Salah.
For this very reason, some supporters in other countries would find it difficult to comprehend why Liverpool would decline such enormous offers from Saudi Arabia. In the Premier League, Salah is unmatched, and the Reds would find it extremely difficult to replace him.
