Stats for Players and Teams: Panthers vs. Cowboys
The NFL schedule for 2023 has an NFC battle in week 11 between a team that is seriously considering winning a title and another team that is simply playing since all NFL teams are required to have a squad for 17 regular-season games. In Charlotte, the Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Panthers are competing in a game that is most definitely not a playoff preview.
The Cowboys recently destroyed the unfortunate New York Giants at home. In Dallas’ 49-17 victory, quarterback Dak Prescott scored five touchdowns, raising the Cowboys’ record to 6-3.
The Panthers’ most recent encounter was a Week 10 Thursday Night Football defeat, 16–13, to the Chicago Bears. Despite possessing the top overall pick in the spring, they are currently 1-8 and have the worst record in the NFL.
Desperate to turn things around, Carolina has switched play-callers once more. Playcalling responsibilities were returned to offensive coordinator Thomas Brown by head coach Frank Reich, who had just been given them three games prior.
Unsurprisingly, the Panthers’ Super Bowl odds are located far lower on the futures market. At 250/1, Carolina is one of four clubs with the longest odds to win the title this year.
Conversely, Dallas presently has the fifth-best odds in the NFL to win the championship at 11/1.
