New York Jets Flight Connections 11/25/23
Bringing you daily links to the New York Jets of the National Football League.
Good day, Gang Green Nation! Yesterday, the New York Jets were defeated once more. This one was a win over the Miami Dolphins. It was the Jets’ fourth straight defeat, and maybe the most demoralizing defeat in years. The Jets were sluggish. The Dolphins teased them.
With the exception of a nearly one-minute span near the end of the first half when the Jets briefly pulled to within 10-6, the outcome was never in doubt. This game pitted the varsity against the JV. It was Alabama vs. Rutgers. The Jets offense has been terrible for a long time, but it hit a new low yesterday. The Dolphins’ defense is solid.
They’re fine. Not awful, not spectacular, just adequate. Nobody will confuse the Dolphins defense with that of the Ravens, 49ers, or the Jets. The Dolphins defense destroyed the Jets’ pitiful excuse for an offense so thoroughly that the Jets did not even cross midfield until midway in the fourth quarter, long after the game was decided.
Sure, the Jets offense has struggled at times this season, but at least they were making field goals. It wasn’t much, but it was a start. The Jets are no longer even thinking about attempting a field goal until the game is out of reach and the opposition is simply trying to run out the clock. And this against a pretty average defense. Oh my goodness.
