Report: Nebraska to Host Ohio State Transfers Kyle McCord and Julian Fleming.
In 2023, McCord started at quarterback for the Buckeyes, and Fleming was a four-year member of the Ohio State receiving core. December was when both players accessed the portal.
In his lone season as a starter, McCord helped lead the Buckeyes to an 11-1 record after spending two seasons supporting C.J. Stroud in Columbus. He completed 65.8 percent of his passes for 3,170 yards, 24 touchdowns, and six interceptions.

However, none of the wins compare to Ohio State’s one loss of the season, which came against archrival Michigan for the third consecutive year. McCord completed eighteen of thirty passes for 271 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in that game. The final drive, when the Buckeyes were trying to win the game, was when the second interception occurred.
His inability to lead Ohio State to victory in the rivalry game will mar his tenure with the program, but he led the Buckeyes to victory over a strong Penn State team, orchestrated a game-winning drive against Notre Dame, and would be a valuable addition to a Cornhusker team in need of strong quarterback play.
Both players might benefit from a change of scenery, and Lincoln undoubtedly needs some talent. Additionally, a game against the Buckeyes would be possible because Ohio Stadium will host the Cornhuskers and Buckeyes on October 26.
