Minnesota Vikings and Cincinnati Bengals: Initial injury reports for both teams.
Minnesota Vikings; Did Not Participate
- RB Alexander Mattison (ankle)
- WR Jalen Nailor (concussion)
- OT Brian O’Neill (ankle)
Limited Participation
- G Ed Ingram (hip)
- WR Justin Jefferson (chest)
- G Dalton Risner (ankle)
All players on the Vikings’ injury list aside from Ingram, who did not play during the game left the win over the Raiders early. After his ankle was rolled up on, Risner had to sit out a few plays before he could finally return to the game and finish it. For the guys who don’t participate already, it will require a lot of work to get things going by Saturday. Jefferson’s situation is obviously one to keep an eye on in the future.
Cincinnati Bengals; Did Not Participate
- LB Joe Bachie (oblique)
- WR Ja’Marr Chase (ankle)
Limited Participation
- WR Tyler Boyd (foot/ankle)
- CB D.J. Turner II (ankle)
Full Participation
- CB Chidobe Awuzie (shoulder)
- QB Jake Browning (right forearm)
- TE Mitchell Wilcox (knee)
Given that Chase is among the NFL’s top wide receivers, it is noteworthy that he is listed on the Bengals’ injury report. Guys who are already not participating might find it difficult to make the quick turnaround, as I mentioned in regards to the Vikings report, but we’ll see what the Bengals decide to do with Chase. Since Browning is expected to start for Cincinnati at quarterback right now, I assume his injury won’t be serious enough to prevent him from playing in this one.
That concludes everyone’s first look at the Vikings and Bengals injury reports for the week. We plan to update these during the course of the week.
