Arsenal survived a tough test at Anfield against Liverpool to hold the top spot in the Premier League. The Gunners’ next Premier League match after Christmas will be against West Ham at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners and Reds tied 1-1.
After receiving his fifth booking of the year in the draw with Liverpool, Kai Havertz will be absent from that match. But after both players were named in the matchday squad at Anfield on Saturday night, Mikel Arteta will have players like Mohamed Elneny and Jorginho available for selection once more.
Though he is not anticipated to play until January, Thomas Partey is getting close to making a comeback to the field. Having said that, in advance of West Ham, this has reviewed every injury update from Emirates Stadium.
Jorginho: After Arsenal defeated Brighton on Sunday, they went up to the top of the Premier League table. Jorginho was not included in the matchday squad. The Italian midfielder is expected to make a play this weekend on Merseyside after being ruled out with a foot ailment.

Mohamed Elneny: When Mohamed Elneny, an Arsenal midfielder, returned from injury against PSV in the Champions League, he was forced to be substituted because of a possible hamstring problem, which was a further blow. Thankfully, the African Cup of Nations is approaching, so it looks like the Egyptian international will be back soon. The Egypt international was added back to the matchday roster for Anfield’s match against Liverpool.

What Arteta has said: “Mo Elneny hopefully will train with us today and we’ll see how he feels about it. The rest is no news.”
Thomas Partey: Partey has undergone a “procedure” that will keep him out of action for the rest of the season. When Arteta last gave an update on his recovery, it was unclear if the 30-year-old would be ready to play Liverpool in the FA Cup third round at the beginning of 2024. Partey is expected to return for Arsenal’s FA Cup match against Liverpool before going to AFCON.
Injury: Thigh; Expected return date: Liverpool (H) – January 7

Jurrien Timber: A catastrophic injury befell Timber, who signed with the Gunners after leaving Ajax in the summer, on the first weekend of the Premier League season. After Arsenal’s match against Nottingham Forest, the 22-year-old defender went down, holding his right knee, toward the end of the first half.
In the end, Timber’s ACL injury turned out not to be as serious as initially thought, with a comeback date estimated for March or May of next year. There’s a growing conviction among supporters that they should catch the former Ajax player in action before the current campaign ends, since he was most recently pictured during Arsenal’s club trip to Rwanda.

What Arteta has said: “He’s progressing remarkably. Even though he is recovering from a really serious injury, he is performing admirably at this point. Seeing how he works each day is so fulfilling. “He will be missed for a very long time. The amount of labor required in the knee to regain strength and mobility is determined by the first few steps.”
