Chris Sutton has been picking the winner of Newcastle against Nottingham Forest today. The match will take place at St. James’ Park, and the Reds are in desperate need of a win.
Sutton picks Forest vs. Newcastle.
North East forests are faced with an unappreciated task today. Newcastle is still rather formidable at home, despite their recent away losses of a few points. Sutton doesn’t think Forest’s performance against Newcastle this afternoon will turn around.
“Eddie Howe needs a win here because Newcastle’s run of results is becoming a worry,” he said to BBC Sport. Although they don’t exactly need to stop the rot, it is obvious that battling on several fronts has had a negative impact. But they still have a good home record in the Premier League, and returning to St. James’ Park will undoubtedly benefit them once more.
“It will be interesting to see how quickly Forest’s new manager Nuno Espirito Santo can establish himself because they might soon be involved in a relegation battle.”
Forest needs to battle at Newcastle once more.
Over the past 12 months, Newcastle has won over the hearts of their supporters, and Howe surprised everyone by taking them to the Champions League last season. They were defeated by Luton on their travels on Saturday, marking the end of their participation in that competition.
Sutton has tipped Forest to lose 2-0 this afternoon. Although it’s unlikely that Forest would go there and prevail, they must play well.Espirito Santo needs to swiftly establish himself at the table. Given their terrible performance, Forest may be demoted as soon as today.
The Portuguese leader is in dire need of a change soon. I hope Forest can turn things around this afternoon at St. James’ Park.
