According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network on Thursday, the Philadelphia Eagles have awarded star wide receiver A.J. Brown with a record-breaking new contract extension that would keep him with the team until the 2029 NFL season. As part of his new three-year contract deal, the 27-year-old will make $96 million, with $84 million guaranteed.
With his new extension, the Eagles were able to keep the star wideout well beyond the end of his previous contract, which was a four-year, $100 million deal that he signed in 2022. Since Philadelphia acquired Brown in a draft day trade with the Tennessee Titans in 2022, Brown has become quarterback Jalen Hurts’ top target.
In his third Pro Bowl appearance the previous season, Brown caught a career-high 106 passes on 158 targets for 1,456 yards and seven touchdowns. In two seasons since joining the Eagles, Brown has amassed 194 receptions, 2,952 receiving yards, and 18 receiving touchdowns. Brown is the second wide receiver in Philadelphia to sign a new contract this offseason; DeVonta Smith did it earlier in April.
