An unfamiliar name surfaces on the 2024 Seattle Seahawks mock draft tracker.
However, there are undoubtedly certain issues in Seattle that require quick attention. The team still needs to address its problems at the interior of the offensive line, even after adding linebackers and safeties in free agency. Unless significant adjustments are made, some national analysts believe Seattle’s offensive line will rank last in the league by 2024.
At least it appears like Seattle will not be selecting a quarterback in the April draft. The Seahawks now have two seasoned quarterbacks on the roster who are both signed for two more seasons after recently trading for Sam Howell. Schneider selecting a quarterback so soon would come as a shock.
The Seattle Seahawks mock draft tracker suggests that Seattle will take care of one issue.
Oregonian offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson
The 328-pound, 6’3″ Powers-Johnson sets the tone for this discussion. Many believe he has excellent potential as an NFL guard due to his versatility as an offensive lineman. Although he can also play center, it doesn’t seem wise for Seattle to select a player in the first round who appears to be a center. Powers-Johnson was intimidating during Senior Bowl drills.
Troy Fautanu, Washington’s offensive lineman
Due to his versatility and likelihood of starting at guard in Week 1 like Powers-Johnson, Fautanu may still be the first pick among most mock drafters. However, Fautanu also trained with Ryan Grubb, Seattle’s new offensive coordinator, at Washington. Grubb’s desire for Fautanu is logically sound.
Alabama offensive lineman JC Latham
Latham performs the same function as Fautanu and Powers-Johnson. Latham is a massive person, which makes a difference. His stature of 6’6″ and 360 pounds makes him an excellent choice for a guard.
Georgia offensive tackle Amarius Mims
Mims hasn’t shown on many draft mocks. That, of course, really just indicates that the Seahawks will select him in the first round. However, Mims is more of a pure tackle, and the Seahawks probably have no incentive to select him now that Seattle signed George Fant in free agency.
Byron Murphy II, a Texas defensive tackle
Jarran Reed and Leonard Williams are two talented interior defensive linemen for the Seahawks, but having more youth would be advantageous. Murphy is very strong despite his little stature. In this draft, he might be the closest thing to Aaron Donald.
