A Super Bowl matchup between two former Miami Hurricanes is scheduled.
San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs will rematch Super Bowl 54 following the outcomes of Sunday’s conference championships. Because a former Cane will win a Super Bowl ring, this game is especially special for Miami Hurricanes fans.
Two Hurricanes who were selected in the fourth round of the NFL Draft in consecutive years, Jon Feliciano of the 49ers and Deon Bush of the Chiefs, will be competing in this year’s Super Bowl in Las Vegas. Out of all of them, only one will emerge the winner after three years as Coral Gables colleagues.
After being selected by the Oakland Raiders in the 2015 draft, Feliciano signed with the 49ers this summer with little hope of having an immediate effect on the squad. Feliciano, however, had to fill in due to injuries and has been a fantastic addition to the 49ers offensive line. A few weeks back, we wrote on Feliciano’s performance in seven starts for the NFC champions, and he finished with an 81.2 PFF grade.
The Kansas City Chiefs signed Bush in the 2022 offseason as a defensive backfield addition to bolster their depth. Bush was selected by the Chicago Bears in the 2016 NFL Draft. In the AFC Championship game on Sunday, Bush who only appeared in one game during the regular season made a vital interception on Lamar Jackson, which helped propel the Chiefs to the Super Bowl.
The Pro Bowl this Sunday will include David Njoku, but football fans will have to wait until February 11th to see these two NFL Canes play against one another.
