Following Nicolas Kuhn, Celtic’s top transfer priorities are in the door with “many players” available.
Celtic has finalized agreements with Rapid Vienna, and as was mentioned this morning, the Bhoys have applied for and been given a work visa for Kuhn to play football in Scotland.
The league leaders are expected to make a bid for the German, who ranks highly in his league for creating opportunities for teammates. It is anticipated that he would bring a creative cutting edge to their offensive style.
However, when Kuhn is in and verified, what will happen to Celtic?
Celtic wants to make further transfers in January. According to a report this week from Football Scotland journalist Mark Hendry, it appears that two other agreements outside of Kuhn are in the works.
The Bhoys’ scouting and recruiting staff are reportedly actively considering strikers and left-backs, with “lots of players” being offered to the team by different agencies.
“Due diligence” is allegedly being done on these players; Brendan Rodgers has already claimed that he is seeking for players who would immediately enhance his matchday alternatives.
For many Celtic supporters, a left-back would definitely be a priority. This season, Greg Taylor has been used excessively, while Alexandro Bernabei has not been included in any of Rodgers’ plans. Taylor requires competition, and she needs it soon.
With Hyeongyu Oh and Daizen Maeda now participating in the Asian Cup, another striker would be very welcome.Although competition and an additional rotation option are required, Kyogo Furuhashi is still Celtic’s top choice.
It appears that the goalkeeping position will not be addressed in the current window, particularly in light of the manager’s previous remarks.
In addition to implying that he will be trying to recruit in that area during the summer window, he has hinted that discussions over Joe Hart’s future will not begin until close to the end of the current campaign.
