Bordeaux’s Stian Gregersen gets a contract with Atlanta United.
The 28-year-old defender Gregersen has a deal with the MLS until 2027 and a 2028 option.
Carlos Bocaengra, vice president and technical director of Atlanta United, stated in a release, “Stian has been a consistent performer across multiple leagues and is comfortable defending with space behind him, as well as in an organized block.”
He is a presence, a good game reader, and a leader who organizes and leads the back line to assist control the situation. He is a welcome addition to Atlanta United and will strengthen our defense.
Gregersen, who joined Bordeaux in 2021 following a protracted stay with Molde in his home Norway, has amassed 8g/4a in 229 career professional games. He has eight caps on the international scene, divided between international friendlies and World Cup qualifying.
Gregersen and international Luis Abram of Peru may team up on the back line this coming season.Following a stellar season for Atlanta United from 2019 to 23, Miles Robinson signed a free agent contract with FC Cincinnati.
Recently, midfielder Tristan Muyumba (from EA Guingamp) and winger Xande Silva (from Dijon) have been acquired by Atlanta from lesser levels in France.
