In 2023, the Ohio State Buckeyes made even more history. The Buckeyes were ranked inside the Associated Press (AP) poll for the entirety of the previous campaign, marking the 56th consecutive season of that kind. In all of college football, Ohio State holds the longest current string of consecutive AP Poll appearances.
The five longest-running AP Poll streaks were listed by FOX Sports, highlighting how far ahead the Buckeyes are. The Georgia Bulldogs, who have finished in the top 25 in the US for each of the previous 27 seasons, came in second place.
In that regard, the Bulldogs and the Wisconsin Badgers are tied, with the Oregon ducks coming in fourth place with 26 seasons. The Oklahoma Sooners, who have a 25-season trend dating back to 1999, complete the top-5 streaks.
