Escobar is released by the Blue Jays
Veteran infielder Eduardo Escobar has been released by the Toronto Blue Jays, the team announced on Friday. The 35-year-old Escobar visited spring training after agreeing to a minor-league contract with the team last month.
Over 13 seasons with the Chicago White Sox, Minnesota Twins, Arizona Diamondbacks, Milwaukee Brewers, New York Mets, and Los Angeles Angels, Escobar was named an All-Star in 2021. He has played in 1,363 games.
The Tampa Bay Rays will be the first team the Blue Jays face in 2024 on Thursday.
