Leading in-state talent commits to the Gamecocks
After finishing his junior season, Leach—who plays for one of the best teams in the state at Abbeville High School—became a key target for the Gamecocks. Torrian Gray, the secondary coach at USC, noticed Leach’s recruiting and recruited him as a versatile defensive back.
Occasionally, we have discussions on safety. We occasionally have distinct chats regarding the corner, Leach stated earlier this year. He mentioned that they couldn’t find a natural nickel, so maybe one day we will talk about nickel. He responded, “Of course I’ll put on weight, but he’s talked to me about any position in the secondary,” after I played it in high school and mentioned my length.
Leach is set to make a formal visit to the Gamecocks on June 7 after attending a junior day in January. In addition, he received offers from Wake Forest, Coastal Carolina, Charlotte, Appalachian State, Duke, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, and Georgia Tech.
Also committed to the Gamecocks through 2025 are receivers Jayden Sellers and Brian Rowe.
