Caitlin Clark wins her seventh Big Ten Player of the Week honor this season with lucky number seven.
Clark has won the weekly prize for the conference seven times already this season alone. She leads all active Big Ten players in double-doubles, and she had two this week, so it is difficult to argue with the selection.
Caitlin Clark had a fantastic start to the week at Northwestern, scoring 35 points, dishing out 10 assists, and grabbing six rebounds. Then she ignited it against Maryland in a hostile road setting. With 12 assists, 6 rebounds, and 38 points, Clark was unstoppable.
Clark is averaging a career-high 32.4 points, 7.9 assists, and 7.0 rebounds this season. With 122 made threes already, she is on track to surpass her career high of 140 made threes. She is completing 48.2% of all shots and another career-best 40.1% of threes.
It looks like a matter of when rather than if the Hawkeyes point guard will surpass Kelsey Plum to become the women’s all-time top scorer with seven games remaining.ย Clark’s next game is against the Penn State Nittany Lions on Thursday, February 8 at 8 p.m. CT.
