CB who is leaving Alabama pledges to play for Florida football.
Grimsley, a four-star cornerback from Tampa Catholic High, signed on to the portal following the announcement earlier this month by Alabama coach Nick Saban of his retirement. Grimsley is rated as the 240th overall prospect and the 18th best cornerback in the 2024 class. Grimsley, who weighs 185 pounds and stands 6-foot-3, adds speed to the Florida Gators secondary. Grimsley has recorded performances in the 100 and 200 meters as fast as 10.84 and 21.79 seconds, respectively.
For the 2024 campaign, Florida will have redshirt sophomore cornerback Devin Moore, sophomore cornerbacks Ja’Keem Jackson and Dijon Johnson, and senior cornerback Jason Marshall.
Grimsley becomes Florida’s second major defensive acquisition of the weekend. D’antre Robinson, a four-star defensive tackle, committed to the Gators on Friday. With 382.3 yards allowed per game last season, Florida’s defense was ranked 11th in the SEC and has to do better.
