All-Star for the Celtics is brutally honest about the humiliating Clippers loss
The Los Angeles Clippers thoroughly humiliated the Boston Celtics on Saturday night. On the second night of a road back-to-back, the Clippers managed to lead the Celtics by as many as 36 points before winning by 19. Both players and fans of the Celtics were taken aback by what happened.
Point guard for the Celtics, Jrue Holiday, spoke candidly about the defeat following the game. Holiday described it as “a good old-fashioned a*s-whooping.” “They seemed to be a step ahead; they were better at everything—rebounding, transitioning, and 50/50 balls.”
The Clippers were missing some excellent looks just as much as the Celtics. The only thing separating the two teams from the three-point line was LA’s decision to attack the paint following Celtics misses. According to Jrue, the defense was impacted by the misses, which made it easier for the Clippers to attack frequently.
Holiday remarked, “To be honest, I think we had a lot of good shots, especially at first.” Many open-minded shots. I missed them, said Holiday. At the end of the day, you still have to take them, even though I believe that occasionally it kind of hampers our defense. It appears awful even when they’re not falling, but you just need to have the courage to keep shooting them.
It was only fitting that LA repays the Celtics for embarrassing them at home after their game. The series is now tied at one point, and these two clubs will likely play on a much larger platform in the future.
