How Trevor Story’s injury recovery from the Red Sox was aided by Chris Sale
Two elite athletes, Chris Sale and Trevor Story, have their output curtailed by injuries while they were members of the Boston Red Sox. After facing several challenges during his first two seasons with the Red Sox, Story returns for a healthy 2024. Story said recently that Sale was a great help in getting back into shape on the field during his recuperation from elbow surgery last summer.
During Red Sox Winter Weekend at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Massachusetts, on Saturday, Story told reporters, “A year removed from surgery, there’s mental clarity that comes with that.” “Chris Sale taught me this one thing. You’ll be able to return, he said. You’ll be in good health. You’ll be capable of making the necessary throws. You’ll (feel like) you’re back after about a year. You’ll sense an increase in power during your tosses.
After being able to practice at maximum capacity this winter, Story anticipates that Sale’s evaluation will pay off for the Red Sox in 2024.
Story went on, “Just being able to push more weight like I have in the past.” “Having the freedom to run and perform all activities to the best of my ability rather than focusing solely on getting well again.”
The extent to which Story recovers will determine how far the Red Sox can go in the American League East. Regarding Sale, the seasoned left-hander, who spent six seasons with Boston, is starting a new chapter in his career after being traded to the Atlanta Braves in December.
