It wasn’t in tennis, but the illustrious Rafael Nadal won a Mallorca grass tournament.
With a seven-stroke lead, the 37-year-old Rafa secured the title. In 2020, Nadal took part in the competition and placed fourth; in 2021, he placed sixth; and in 2022, he finished second.
There were seventy-five competitors in this year’s contest. Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from the ATP 250 hardcourt competition in Doha, as was originally reported.
Nadal’s injury at the Australian Open in January 2023 prevented him from playing the entire year. He had hip surgery last summer. When the Spaniard played again, it was at the Brisbane International, where he advanced to the quarterfinals before losing to Jordan Thompson. Rafael had a muscular strain during that game, which caused him to miss the Australian Open tennis competition in 2024.
