Drua lose their trial match to the Rebels.
The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua team was defeated 21–26 by the Melbourne Rebels in their last preseason game on Friday.
Despite the Rebels starting their top-choice players in the first half, the Meli Derenalagi-led team was able to take a 21-7 advantage at the break.
Sadly, the Rebels gradually established their rhythm and outplayed Mick Byrne’s team, and the Drua were unable to keep up the pressure.
Two weeks ago, the team also suffered a defeat in a trial match against the Brumbies.
The Drua are now getting ready for their official 2024 Super Rugby Pacific season opener against the Blues in New Zealand on Saturday.
