Eli Gold, a veteran football radio pundit, will be replaced by Alabama
The vice president and general manager of the Crimson Tide Sports Network, Jim Carabin, stated, “Eli has been an invaluable member of our broadcast team.” “We appreciate all of his years of service and wish him well in his upcoming endeavors. Chris is a member of our current broadcast crew, so CTSN is lucky to have someone who can step up and take over this responsibility with ease.”
Since 1998, Stewart has worked for the network in a number of capacities. Following Gold’s cancer diagnosis during the 2022 season, he stood in for the veteran commentator. Gold called the Auburn game and home games during his return to a partial schedule last season.
Gold stated to AL.com that he had no intention of retiring. “Well, the university has chosen not to bring me back,” Gold replied. “This is in no way connected to health, I repeat, not at all. I am in excellent health. Everything is fantastic. I have horse health.”
