7s returns for the Bolaca pair.
Air Fiji This coming weekend in Vancouver, Canada, Fiji’s men’s playmaker Napolioni Bolaca and Fijiana 7s representative Laisani Likuceva will play their first match together as a married couple.
Likuceva has been playing for the Fijiana team since February of last year, while Bolaca is making his comeback to the men’s national 7s team after a two-year absence. After dating for more than three years, the two got married in July 2023.
Likuceva stated, “I had to withdraw from the national team in February of last year due to my pregnancy at the time. After recuperating from knee surgery for the previous eight months, Bolaca came back from rehab.
We are both called to service in Vancouver and Los Angeles, so there isn’t much we can do about it. We’ll give it our all for our nation and, most importantly, for our kid, who turned one this month,” she continued.
Bolaca debuted in the game for the national team for the 2018–2019 World Rugby 7s Series competition in Singapore, and he signed a contract with the Drua in 2022.
He was a member of the national 7s team that won gold at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. He was also the leading scorer in the 2019–2020 World Rugby 7s Series with 159 points. Likuceva also won a bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
