DJ Uiagalelei, a former quarterback for Oregon State and Clemson, will play for Florida State in 2024.
In a statement released on Tuesday, head coach Mike Norvell said, “I’m excited to have DJ join the Nole Family.” “He has an outstanding track record as a starting quarterback and is a proven winner. In addition to displaying amazing leadership on the football, he has amazing interpersonal skills off the field.
DJ is a very diligent worker who is eager to advance in our system and interact with the talented playmakers that we have here. As we move into 2024, DJ will bring a wealth of experience, talent, and playmaking ability to a quarterback room about which we are very thrilled.
In terms of big-play percentage, he is among the best quarterbacks in the nation. He also possesses excellent size and ability. He is also quite accurate while moving the ball down the field. I am overjoyed to welcome this gifted football player, devoted learner, and amazing individual into the Nole Family.”
Uiagalelei was debating between declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft and attending a third school. After losing Jordan Travis, his choice provides Florida State with experience at the position. Travis is no longer eligible because he was hurt at the end of the season. Tate Rodemaker, the backup, went through the transfer portal.
Brock Glenn, a true freshman, started Florida State’s final two games of the season, a 63-3 rout of Georgia in the Orange Bowl last week and the ACC Championship against Louisville.
Uiagalelei finished with an 8-4 regular season in 2023, marking a career year at Oregon State. In addition, he gained 219 rushing yards and six ground-based scores. His career stats with the Tigers and Beavers (2020–22) include 24 interceptions, 57 touchdowns, and 8,319 throwing yards.
