In the inaugural CBS Sports 2024 bracketology update, the Gators remain unmoved.
After a spotless December, Florida has won six straight, but the caliber of those wins has been poor, putting the team dead last in the major polls and in the lower half of most March Madness brackets.
This also applies to Jerry Palm, a journalist for CBS Sports, and his most recent bracketology, which was his first to be published since mid-December. As in the last update, the Gators are ranked 11th in the Midwest bracket, when they were ranked 11th in the South previously.
In addition, the Orange and Blue are among the last four teams in the Midwest and will play the No. 11 St. John’s Red Storm in the first four.
Tennessee Volunteers (No. 2), Kentucky Wildcats (No. 3), Ole Miss Rebels (No. 6), Auburn Tigers (No. 8), Alabama Crimson Tide (No. 8), Texas A&M Aggies (No. 8) and South Carolina Gamecocks (No. 10) are whirling around the SEC as well.
On January 6, Florida takes on Kentucky in the O’Connell Center in the first game of its SEC schedule. ESPN will broadcast the game, with kickoff set for an early 12:30 p.m. ET start.
