Joel Klatt: Ohio State Will “Make a Run” for a National Title in 2024
Joel Klatt feels the Ohio State Buckeyes should be the overwhelming favorites to win the 2024 National Championship. During his radio broadcast on Tuesday, the FOX analyst expressed his shock at the number of Buckeyes who decided to return for the upcoming season. Klatt remarked, “I did not see this coming.” “They’re basically all coming back…Ohio State is primed to make a run.”
Several important Ohio State players, on both sides of the ball, have stated since late December that they will stay with the team instead of entering the NFL Draft. Notable players who will be running it back next year include cornerback Denzel Burke, defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau, and receiver Emeka Egbuka of the Buckeyes.
Additionally, the Buckeyes have been quite active on the transfer portal, filling two critical positions with much-needed experience. During his show, Klatt highlighted two of these additions, one of whom he believes will work well with Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson.
“They went into the portal and got Will Howard…he was the Kansas State quarterback that won a Big 12 championship over TCU,” Klatt explained. Quinshon Judkins, the top running back in the SEC, is theirs. Is TreVeyon Henderson and him going to share carries going forward? That’s the greatest backfield in America right now.
The returns of Ohio State’s players have all been announced with two words in common. There’s a perceptionโparticularly among rising seniors on the Buckeyesโthat there’s still “unfinished business” to be resolved before they start their professional careers. Next autumn, Ohio State will have the opportunity to accomplish that and, along with Michigan and newcomers like Oregon, should be considered among the favorites to win the Big Ten.
