Green Bay, Wisconsin By re-signing linebacker Eric Wilson, the Green Bay Packers have strengthened their special teams.
Wilson, 29, led the Packers in special teams tackles in 2022 with 13 and in 2021 with 11 more last year. Last season, he also totaled 24 defensive tackles.
In the last seconds of his teammate Keisean Nixon’s 73-yard punt return, he recovered a crucial fumble during the Packers’ 24-21 NFC divisional playoff loss over San Francisco.
Prior to this, Wilson was a player with the Houston Texans (2021), Philadelphia Eagles (2021), and Minnesota Vikings (2017–20). He was picked by the Vikings as an undrafted free agent from Cincinnati, then in October 2022, the Packers signed him off the practice squad of the New Orleans Saints.
