According to Raptors President Ujiri, Koloko’s health is “in hands of NBA.”
Christian Koloko, a former center for Toronto, is a man whose health “is in the hands of the NBA,” according to Raptors president Masai Ujiri on Thursday. Koloko is unable to play for or practice with an NBA team due to a blood clot issue; as a result, he has been referred to the league’s Fitness-to-Play panel later on Thursday, according to Shams Charania of the Athletic.
Following the Raptors’ Wednesday trade of Pascal Siakam to Indiana in exchange for three players, the 23-year-old Koloko was waived. Due to a “respiratory issue,” as described by the Raptors, Koloko has not played this season.
Koloko, who was selected 33rd overall in the 2022 draft out of Arizona, played in 58 games with Toronto last year, starting 19 of them. He put up 3.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game on average.
