Kendrick Perkins believes the Milwaukee Bucks are not a title contender because “no one fears the deer.”
Even with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, two of the league’s most dynamic scorers, the Bucks, according to Kendrick Perkins, don’t fear anyone.
“The deer is not feared by anyone. In actuality, deer hunting season is currently in effect. About a month and a half ago, to be exact, Perkins remarked in an NBA on ESPN episode.
Disappointed at Milwaukee’s performance
The Bucks won seven games in a row last month, which was by far their longest winning streak. The Bucks’ string of victories allowed them to move up to second place in the Eastern Conference. Milwaukee, who had a 24-9 record, was scheduled to take on the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night.
Despite the Bucks’ current record, Perkins didn’t seem to be impressed.
“Secondly, because nobody has been playing for the Bucks lately, I don’t want to know what they’ve been up to. Indeed, they emerged victorious against the New York Knicks. Afterwards, on Christmas, the Knicks repaid the favor. They are compared to competitors.Perkins stated, “The Bucks have not achieved a memorable victory.
For Milwaukee, perimeter defense is a major concern.ย According to Perkins, teams with strong wing players can easily exploit Milwaukee due to their poor perimeter defense.
“You can defeat the Milwaukee Bucks if you have a superior perimeter player. That is your starting five when you are up against Damian Lillard, Malik Beasley, and Khris Middleton. Who is preventing the person outside? No one, Perkins continued.
According to Perkins, the Bucks’ defensive play could get better depending on their next move. It remains to be seen if Jae Crowder’s injury recovery will result in a major improvement for Milwaukee’s defense.
Even though the Bucks are currently in the upper half of the standings, Perk does not consider them to be a title candidate.
The Bucks are not a competitive squad at this time. They haven’t defeated anyone, and they haven’t demonstrated to us that they can improve their perimeter defense,” remarked Perkins.
Milwaukee is seen negatively by Perkins; the Bucks need to change his mind.
